IPEC have installed and commissioned three highly critical Advanced Substation Monitoring (ASM) systems in Australia. Working with Western Power Corporation in Perth, WA the team introduced Australia to the high technology substation monitoring systems already deployed in Utilities around the world.
Dr. Colin Smith Technical Director of IPEC Ltd will be giving a paper entitled “Influence of network events on partial discharge activity and cable health" at the CIRED conference & exhibition in Prague in June 2009. IPEC Limited will also exhibit at the conference.
IPEC will be giving a live demonstration of their monitoring systems for HV and EHV power cables. The UltraSense 16 channel ultrasonic monitor is situated close to the end of the CV tube to give early dimensional and quality information on the cable in production. It can also be used for diagnosing problems in cables that have failed test.
IPEC has concluded a deal to supply the first UltraSense cable monitor to a cable manufacturer in China. Zhejiang Wanma Cable Co. Ltd is fitting the UltraSense Monitor to their latest facility for 500kV EHV cable production.

IPEC are exhibiting two monitors for Medium and High Voltage Power Cables.
IPEC will be demonstrating the power of their monitoring systems for MV and HV power cables. The combination of the UltraSense 16 channel ultrasonic monitor and their Data Analysis software gives unique information on the quality of the insulation and semiconductor layers of XLPE or EPR Insulated cables.
IPEC has closed a deal with a Turkish company for the sale of its unique UltraSense cable monitoring system. Turkish company Demirer Kablo, will now benefit from the system’s ability to easily and accurately detect defects in EHT power cables during manufacture
